Commission Overview
The Historic Preservation Commission is responsible for designating historic structures, historic sites, and historic districts within the city limits and encourages historic preservation in the city. The Historic Preservation Commission also provides residents with continuing education about the historic heritage of the city and works with the Wisconsin Historical Society.

Apr 11    Milton United Methodist Chruch Spring Salad Buffet
Spring Salad Buffet set for April 11 Milton United Methodist Women will host their annual Spring Salad Buffet on Wednesday, April 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place in fellowship hall of Milton United Methodist Church at 241 Northside Drive. This mission fundraiser will again feature Swedish meatballs as well as a multitude of salads and desserts complemented by homemade rolls. Recipes for many of the salads and desserts on the menu are included in the Praise Cookbook, which will be for sale. Tickets for adults are $8. Children ages 6-10 are $3. Children younger than 6 are free. Carryout is available. Profits from the Spring Salad Buffet will go to support local missions like Milton Area Youth Center, YWCA Women’s Shelter, and the Milton Food Pantry, as well as national and international mission projects. Apr 19    Life Story Writing Class
Under the guidance of personal historian Lindsey Hulstrom these classes will help you get started on writing the personal story of your life! Lindsey uses the Guided Autobiography method - a process for life story preservation and exploration through individual autobiographical writing and group sharing. During each class, you will receive life story ideas, guidance, relevant exercises to prompt writing, and a broad life theme on which to write a two-page story about your life. Time between classes will be used for reflection on the life theme and to write your two page story to be read aloud at the next class. Each two-hour class will provide general discussion, introduction of themes and time for you share your story in an encouraging and safe environment. This is a series of of classes beginning on March 8th and running through May 17.
